Naomi Beckwith, Artistic Director of D16, welcomes new members to her Curatorial Team: Raven Chacon joins the team as Curator-at-Large, Osei Bonsu, Timea Junghaus, and Noam Segal as Curatorial Advisors.
Their collective international experience, expansive knowledge of contemporary music and movement performance, and expertise in new technologies bring together perspectives from diverse geographic backgrounds, disciplines, and intellectual traditions. Together—alongside Naomi Beckwith and her core Curatorial Team Carla Acevedo-Yates, Romi Crawford, Mayra A. Rodríguez Castro, and Xiaoyu Weng—the group will shape the program and artistic vision of D16, looking to artistic strategies of improvisation as a tool for engaging uncertainty and probing the promises and perils of current technologies.
A word from Naomi Beckwith, Artistic Director of D16: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to work with these brilliant makers and scholars whose convictions are as strong as their commitment to collaborative practice.”
D16 will invite visitors to Kassel from June 12 through September 19, 2027, creating a space for shared experiences, listening, and transcultural dialogue. The exhibition and programs will honor artists as they navigate a world in turmoil, developing strategies and new possibilities for living together amid planetary indeterminacy. Improvisation, experimentation, and collective learning will open new paths.
